This story really touched me, I do not claim the ownership but, it is very inspiring. I do not know the author i would have acknowledge it. But i copied it from a facebook page, read and learn from it

This is one of the SADDEST stories ever told in Hollywood. His name is Sylvestar Stallone. One of the BIGGEST and Most famous American Movie superstars. Back inthe day,Stallone was a
struggling actor in every definition. At some point,he got so broke that he stole his wife's jewellery and sold it. Things got so bad that he even ended up homeless. Yes,he slept at the New York bus station for 3 days. Unable to pay rent or afford food. His lowest point came when he tried to sell his dog at the liquor store to any
stranger. He didnt have money to feed the dog anymore. He sold it at $25 only. He says he walked away crying.
Two weeks later,he saw a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner and that match gave him the inspiration to write the script for the famous movie,ROCKY. He wrote the
script for 20 hours! He tried to sell it and got an offer for $125,000 for the script. But he had just ONE REQUEST. He wanted to STAR in
the movie. He wanted to be the MAIN ACTOR. Rocky himself. But the studio said NO. They wanted a REAL STAR.
They said he "Looked funny and talked funny". He left with his script. Afew weeks later, the studio offered him $250,000 for the script. He refused. They even offered $350,000. He still refused. They wanted his movie. But NOT him. He said NO. He had to be
IN THAT MOVIE.
After a while, the studio agreed, gave him $35,000 for the script and let him star in it! The rest is history! The movie won Best Picture,Best Directing and Best Film Editing at the prestigious
Oscar Awards. He was even nominated for BEST ACTOR! The Movie ROCKY was even inducted into the American National Film Registry as one of the greatest movies ever!
And do You know the first thing he bought with the $35,000? THE DOG HE SOLD. Yes,Stallone LOVED HIS DOG SO MUCH that he stood at the liquor store for 3 days waiting for the man he sold
his dog to. And on the 3rd day,he saw the man coming with the dog. Stallone explained why he sold the dog and begged for the dog back. The man refused. Stallone offered him $100. The
man refused. He offered him $500. And the guy refused. Yes,he refused even $1000. And,Believe it or Not,Stallone had to pay $15,000 for the same, same dog he sold at $25 only! And he
finally got his dog back!
And today, the same Stallone who slept in the streets and sold his dog JUST BECAUSE he couldnt even feed it anymore,is one of the GREATEST Movie Stars who ever walked the Earth!
Being broke is BAD. Really BAD. Have You ever had a dream? A wonderful dream? But You are too broke to implement it? Too tiny to do it? Too small to accomplish it? Damn! I've been there too many times!
Life is tough. Opportunities will pass you by,just because you are a
NOBODY. People will want your products but NOT YOU. Its a tough
world. If you aint already famous,or rich or "connected",You will find it rough.
Doors will be shut on You. People will steal your glory and crash your hopes. You will push and push. And yet NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.
And then your hopes will be crashed. You will be broke. Damn broke. You will do odd jobs for survival. You will be unable to feed yourself. And Yes,you may end up sleeping in the streets.
It happens. Yes,it does.
BUT NEVER LET THEM CRUSH THAT DREAM. Whatever happens to
You,Keep Dreaming. Even when they crush your hopes,Keep Dreaming. Even when they turn you away,Keep Dreaming.
Even when they shut you down,Keep Dreaming.
NO ONE KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF EXCEPT YOURSELF! People will judge You by HOW you look. And by WHAT You have.
But please,Fight on! Fight for Your place in history. Fight for your glory. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!
Even if it means selling all your clothes and sleeping with the dogs,ITS OKAY! But AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL ALIVE,Your STORY IS NOT OVER. TRUST ME.
Keep Up the Fight. Keep your dreams and hope alive. Go gerrit.
Like and share if inspired. Lovely day

Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door Ralph Waldo Emerson

What you lack may not be a job but marketable skill. Imagine the amount of billion of naira that exchange hand daily in various form of buying and selling transaction. I am so sure you too have spent some amount today even if you are a monk living a secluded live somewhere you are directly or indirectly engaged  with commerce one way or the other.

Skill inborn like the artist who work with their ingenuity to create master piece from log of wood or piece of marble of rock. To various acquired skill that is marketable all help in earning income for the owner of the skill.

If you have the simplest skill, take for example cooking and you choose only one aspect of the skill. Local food or confectionery. If you add sales/marketing skill to it what do you have, a source of income. So many people have degree fine but degree is just the beginning of personal education. Honestly degree except in Medicine and Pharmacy may not worth so much this day. The rate of production of degree is more than it is needed, One million nine hundred thousand enter Nigeria labour market every year. Remember the simple law of demand and supply, when the  supply of a good is higher than the amount required what happen the price will fall.
But that is not the end the smart ones among the degree holder must think out of the box, do I continue to apply for job or should I  further my education to acquire more degrees or what are the available options. Acquiring skills such as sales/marketing with your degree will go along way to boost your personal economy. And such skill can be easily acquired by joining  Multi level marketing MLM such as forever living product program, Kedi etc they will train you for free.

Adding such useful skill as driving to your degree will also stand you in good stead to get the job of your choice, so many manufacturing company do required the service of sales agent,  who can drive delivery van. You may not believe this people driving cab on our street with their driving skill save as much as 3000 minimum daily after their daily remuneration. If you have the strength and the agility what stop you from taking into cab driving. There is this real life  story while I was in the cooperate world. One of the driver then was a graduate, well mannered and he kept developing himself, he used all the spear time he had to read while driving one of the executive director of the bank while other drivers a talking and wasting away he qualified as a chartered banker CIBN. Today he has being staffed and made the head of transport of the banking organization. Remember Emerson said a Farmer on his feet is better than a gentle man on his kneel.

I am not a fan of current curriculum, it was designed by the imperialist to make us dependent upon them forever. Parent who want a good future for their ward must build their children with multiple skill for the twenty first century. Don't just send your kids to the University of Polytechnic to earn a degree let the become professionals. Let them start with ATS in secondary school and program them to pass ICAN/ACCA also the must carry Certification in computers such CCNA, Microsoft certification etc. Also pupil must be trained to play musical equipments such as Piano, violin etc. These skill will go a long way to build a total man.

Within you lies your Job

“Everything--a horse, a vine--is created for some duty...For what task, then, were you yourself created?
A man's true delight is to do the things he was made for.”  Marcus Aurelius

Twenty people lost their life in a bid to secure job with Nigeria Immigration commission. After trying without success for ten years to secure a job, a job seeker went to the prison and plead to be  admitted as a prisoner or a prison warder should just kill him so he can end his misery life. This is an evidence of failure in our educational system breeding certificate dependent people. If all you relied upon to survive is your certificate you do not have a proper freedom. When salary are not paid your family suffered, loss of job will bring untold hardship on your family and you are daily subject to fear in trying to keep your job, meeting various targets and you are at the mercy of your employer and management decision they can hire and fire you to ensure profitability.

To survive in the jungle of the world one will need more than certificate and job hunting in the wild wild world. The economics system we are running is design to produce employee for the labour market. But today's labour market is over saturated. That is why One million people will apply for five thousand job with a thousand naira application form and travel to their state capital only to be crushed to death and some died due to fatigue. What a life

The reality is that two much people are chasing too few jobs. So what is the solution should we continue to apply for jobs and create new curricula vitae CV, and search Guardian newspaper every Tuesday and Thursday. Attend available job interview make oneself available, pursue higher degree. There is no crime in doing all these. In fact continuous education is the hallmark of development.

The best form of freedom is derived from internal locus of control. As long as you  look to external factors as a determinant of your success you will feel you are not in control and that external events is much more powerful than yourself. For example if you believe that your Government is responsible for creating amenities you become helpless when this is not done. When you look up to Employer to give you job and this is not done, you become helpless and wait until the employer will be ready to give you job and when this is not done your life become miserable. If you are on a job and you entrust your promotion to management decision and when you are not promoted or a sapling or green horn  are promoted ahead of you, you become frustrated.

But if you look to yourself as the solution to your challenges and problem you tend to have control over yourself. You hold yourself responsible for your failure and for your success you will either find way or make one. You will task your brain until you produce solution to the problem at hand. If you cannot find solution to your problem within yourself "for the consciousness that create a problem may not be able to solve it" Albert Einstein. You aspire and create higher consciousness to be able to solve the problem. You will think solution to your problem.

Take for example you have no job, external locus of controlled person will hold government responsible for job creation or private sector to provide ready job for you when this is not done you get frustrated. An internal locus of control person will sit down and say now I do not have a job what can I do about the situation, what are my options can I hire myself, can I create a job by myself. If you choose to create a job it will spur other questions such as what job can I create and when you finally arrive at what job you can create you face another challenge of providing all factors of productions, land labour entrepreneur and capital. You take each problem at a time and think through it. Land can I use my present room for the production can I rent, lease or share a place, all silicon valley blue chips company started from a room apartment and basement , Labour this is no problem since you are hiring yourself, entrepreneur this not also a problem since you will start off as your own business owner you have  being able to solve three problems and there come the last one capital the most simplest and yet most difficult depending on the level of your financial consciousness. While people think of capital constraint whenever you talk about business they don't know that in business virtues such as Determination, Courage, Ambition, Faith, Ingenuity, ability to drive sales is much more than capital.

Depending on the way you see capital if you see it as money you need to provide to start your business it may be difficult but if you see it as stock/credit, pleasing personality it is easier. Take for example all producer want market/sales for their products and if you position yourself as a retailer of  goods,  Producer will give you goods that can be sold and you return the sales proceed and retain your own profit after sales. That is number one ways. Do you know that your voice is itself is a capital. There was a time I had no job, I had no money, I had nothing. I sat down to think I check through myself and I discovered I have so much resource.

1. I have my life health and vibrant
2. I have a 32 Inches television
3. I have a tiger generator
4. A stabilizer
5. A speaker
6. A DVD player

Do you know with the above material that is available in any home, I generated more than One hundred thousand naira in cash and invaluable amount in influenced life. What I did is to print hand bill for two thousand naira only. I moved from one secondary school to another armed with the hand bill with sales skill, booked an appointment to show film and make seminar presentation on career development for their pupils for a token with a percentage for the school authority. Pupils rushed to watch both the seminar and film show. That is a case in raising capital. It is good to dream big but always plan to start small. Remember the book small is beautiful inspire the Virgin cooperation they started Virgin record in a corner of the street. It is also good to start with any tool no matter how crude; you will have better tools with time. Today we show the program with Projectors. That is how to overcome challenges of capital. It depend the way you sees it, I have a friend who get goods in millions supplied on credit.

You can see what you will go through if you decide to become responsible for the issue of your life. No doubt it is very tough, it is very challenging it take out the whole essence of life and it take thinking which is very tough.

Your job is not outside you it is within you. It only take you sitting down and think of what you can do with what you have. Chris Maduka the group managing director Of Coscharis Nigeria said there was a time he did not have a dime in his hand no job, no money, nothing what did he do. He approached a shop where they sell bathroom scale and get one on credit and started approaching people to check their weight for a token and he paid off  the bathroom scale money and made a lot of money to start other business. The publisher of complete sport said he has to sell newspaper to raise money to start other business concern.

Please note that you may not succeed in your first business venture, in fact it is certain that you will burn your fingers many times before you master the rope. If I catalog my failure in business within this short period you be scared with loss of substantial amount of money. The best way to treat failure is that you must not personalized failure you are not the failure it is the business. Failure is an event and a lesson of how not to do business. If you are learning to ride a car especially manual cars with all you have studied about driving and various demonstration your car will jacked and stop again and again until you master the driving, don't be discourage. Failure is an opportunity to try again and again until you become a master.

If you are on a job no matter how tight your schedule is even including Saturday and Sunday try your hand on some business, even if it just selling SMS online see how many customer you can generate, what goes into production, cost incurred and how profitable is the business, this will give you a new perspective about business world.

Finally don't look elsewhere for your job look within yourself for your job, hire yourself, become your own CEO. No matter what you do you will still find yourself in the business world the earlier the better and it is even better to be your own boss from the beginning and safe yourself job headache A laborer on his feet is better than a gentleman on his kneel . To your success

Being Enterprising
Jim Rohn

An enterprising person is one who comes across a pile of scrap metal and sees the making of a wonderful sculpture. An enterprising person is one who drives through an old decrepit part of town and sees a new housing development. An enterprising person is one who sees opportunity in all areas of life.
To be enterprising is to keep your eyes open and your mind active. It's to be skilled enough, confident enough, creative enough and disciplined enough to seize opportunities that present themselves…regardless of the economy.
A person with an enterprising attitude says, "Find out what you can before action is taken." Do your homework. Do the research. Be prepared. Be resourceful. Do all you can in preparation of what's to come.
Enterprising people always see the future in the present. Enterprising people always find a way to take advantage of a situation, not be burdened by it. And enterprising people aren't lazy. They don't wait for opportunities to come to them, they go after the opportunities. Enterprise means always finding a way to keep yourself actively working toward your ambition.
Enterprise is two things. The first is creativity. You need creativity to see what's out there and to shape it to your advantage. You need creativity to look at the world a little differently. You need creativity to take a different approach, to be different.
What goes hand-in-hand with the creativity of enterprise is the second requirement: the courage to be creative. You need courage to see things differently, courage to go against the crowd, courage to take a different approach, courage to stand alone if you have to, courage to choose activity over inactivity.
And lastly, being enterprising doesn't just relate to the ability to make money. Being enterprising also means feeling good enough about yourself, having enough self worth to want to seek advantages and opportunities that will make a difference in your future. And by doing so you will increase your confidence, your courage, your creativity and your self-worth—your enterprising nature.
To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

There is no Job for you

"He who lives upon anything except his own labour, is incessantly surrounded by rivals: his grand resource is that servility in which he is always liable to be surpassed. He is in daily danger of being out-bidden; his very bread depends upon caprice; and he lives in a state of uncertainty and never-ceasing fear". William Cobbet

In the ancient time each family have a trade and each member of the family is initiated into the family trade and business, then there is no joblessness and the productivity of the society is higher than in the post industrial age where people are sent to school to learn various theory and upon graduation after many years of schooling you are certificated and your chances in life depend on somebody called employer who may need your certification or not. You are breed to be at the mercy of your employer. The most unfortunate evil of schooling is that it take from your the power of nature, the hardiness and human restlessness and ingenuity associated with youth is taken from you and you are made a gentleman as if gentlemanly is the hallmark of life. Children of farmer loose the capacity to farm, children of blacksmith loose the skill and see it as a dirty work, children trained with cloth laundry money see it as a basal work.

Airtel started the lay off last year followed by Etisalat earlier this year and MTN Nigeria laid off hundreds of their  Engineers who have slaved out with them for ten years in a jiffy, while working with them this young people live in the highest comfort know to man, good houses, fine exotic cars, highbrow areas of the town, stayed in the best hotels on assignment doing the bidding of the masters. In a twinkling of an eye in a board meeting strategizing on how to sustain earning and profitability people were axed away. This is not peculiar to MTN Nigeria it cut across all cooperation, conglomerate, groups of company.

In the economic world we all know that the return to capital is interest and capital appreciation and the return to labour is income and wages which is a form of capital also and more appropriation of capital to labour will mean higher cost to the running of the business, so in other to minimize cost, every method must be employed to keep cost down that is why organization  come up with various invention and new language to do away with people such as rationalization, re engineering, outsourcing etc. All are ways of keeping cost down at the expense of other factors of production.

What is the benefit of working for  ten years in an organization and you are disposed like a disposable pack after you have eating the content. Within ten years of work the organization believed that your wages will be on the higher side compared to recruiting new graduates who can be trained to take over from you. And they can conveniently do away with you. The sad part of this is that you cannot go and start your own GSM company, or your own Bank because of the capital outlay required of the company.

I believe the best for any man is to think of a vocation whether your God giving talent if you have one and develop it and make it a marketable commodities and if you do not have any inborn talent you can learn a trade and sell a commodity that is not available in your area. I used to envy a race in Nigeria though not many of them have so much graduates in their clan and if they do it is just for the paper. But they all have masters who they served for a prolonged period of time where they acquired skill and as freedom the master will start a new shop for them.

Imagined if you have being selling just a product for the past ten years and you dedicate yourself to the sales as you dedicate yourself to your organization. You would have become a master in the business and have added other line of sales business. So many Nigeria are busy applying for job day in day out, they sit down with newspaper cutting advert here and there. Only to be disappointed in not getting the required invitee for interview and some that get invitation only learn to discovered that the position is filled up. The advertisement is only a formality to fulfill all righteousness. And to share in advert budget of the organization

My experience in the cooperate world and the business world repeatedly confirm to me that self reliance is the hallmark of life. Find a niche and fill it. The irony of life is that throughout schooling period they never teach success skill, money skills are not taught. When I look back at so many courses I went through I do imagined what on earth I wasted my time on. University should be structured to impart practical, life skill to student not theory of dead men as described by Henry Ford in his Autobiography “It is not education just to possess the theories of a lot of professors”. Henry Ford
For a copy of Henry Ford Autobiography visit http://manybooks.net/titles/fordhenryetext05hnfrd10.html.

There is no kidding entrepreneurship is hard and it take everything you are made off you think of coordinating the factors production, you think of the idea from conception to execution, to sourcing the customer. You are also responsible for taking the loss and the profit. Entrepreneurship is not the easy way out, but the tough option and not the path of the least resistance. But after the baptism you become a master. It is not for the feeble minded it is for the tough guys who can face disaster and still laugh but once mastered. It pays dividend for life.

Friends whether you get a job now or latter always put at the back of your mind that you are an entrepreneur. There is no security in any job, the only security is that there is no security. And entrepreneurship is the ways of the master. Stop and think of the way to make life better for the society and think of helping solving the job problem in Nigeria by helping recruiting some Nigeria as an entrepreneur. To your success
